This week on Cougar Town, Jules is trying to pick a charity or volunteer project to get involved with. She already donates money to a child in Africa, but she thinks that she should get involved with something in her area. It turns out that all of her friends and family already do volunteer work, so she starts to feel bad.
Bobby is competing in some sort of professional golfing tournament, and Andy is going along as his caddy. Jules and everyone says goodbye and wishes Bobby good luck, and they even do some special prayers in hopes that Bobby will do well.
Grayson has gotten a new trivia game for his bar, so he, Ellie, and Travis are competing to see who can do the best. Jules and Laurie refuse to be involved, and no one thinks that they would be much competition anyways. It seems that Ellie is the best out of the three, and she makes fun of Travis and Grayson for their lack of trivia skills.
Bobby has left his lucky visor in Grayson’s pub, and everyone thinks that he needs it for his tournament. Since Travis lost the trivia game, he has to drive two hours and take the hat to his dad. But when he arrives, Bobby is stuck in a duffel bag because he’s convinced Andy to see whether he can fit inside. Travis tells Bobby and Andy that he will now be in charge of arranging their schedule for the golf tournament.
Jules decides to get involved with Laurie’s charity which helps to raise money to put libraries in schools. She and Laurie visit a classroom with children who are thankful for their new library. Jules is asked to say the Pledge of Allegiance and accidentally says “for Richard Stands” instead of “for which it stands.” The kids start to make fun of her, and Jules is afraid of what people will think when they find out.
Ellie and Grayson are playing trivia again, and this time, Laurie joins in. Jules comes in the bar and makes them turn off the game to watch Bobby on television. He’s doing pretty well to start off. Jules quickly becomes embarrassed because one of the kids in the classroom told her parents what Jules said during the Pledge of Allegiance, and now, it’s all over the town.
Jules desperately wants to get the attention away from her, and at that moment, Bobby starts to go downhill in the tournament. He accidentally hits another player’s ball when celebrating a good shot, and Andy is confused because he has water in his ear and starts to fall all over the course. Bobby earns the nickname Bobby “Wrongballs” Cobb.
Laurie is crushing Grayson and Ellie in trivia, and they’re offended because Laurie always acts so dumb, however, we soon find out that Travis has been assisting her all day, and that’s how she’s won the game several times.
Jules, Andy, and Travis see shirts with Bobby’s picture and nickname on them. They don’t want Bobby to see them, so they buy them all. They have to track down people who have already bought the shirts as well. It turns out that Bobby made the shirts and is selling them. He’s even taken a gig endorsing a local sub shop.
Jules tries to learn from Bobby’s example and not let other people’s opinions matter so much. She goes back to the classroom, determined to say the Pledge of Allegiance correctly. But this time, she says “invisible” instead of “indivisible.”
