Could Shia LaBeouf Be Joining the Batman Franchise?

According to UK tabloid, the Sun, the follow-up to The Dark Knight has signed Shia LaBeouf on to play Batman's partner, Robin. The young actor has had major box office success with Disturbia, Transformers, and Eagle Eye. LaBeouf is no stranger to film franchises as he starred in last summer's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull alongside Hollywood hot shot Harrison Ford. Robin's stunts should be no sweat for the young actor, given his hand injury incurred from a 2008 car accident does not pose a problem.

Also rumored to join the cast are Eddie Murphy as the Riddler and Rachel Weisz as Catwoman. Christian Bale will revisit his role as Bruce Wayne.

While the news could be speculation as Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. executives claim there has been no progress in the development of the film, the rumored cast members could be excellent additions.
