A couple from California has allegedly attempted to sell their 6-month old child for $25 outside of Walmart, and they now face child endangerment charges. Patrick Fousek and Samantha Tomasini, 20, were arrested early Wednesday after two women reported the couple.
Fousek reportedly approached the two women outside of Walmart, and asked if they wanted to purchase their child. After Fousek was persistent in repeating his request, the two women called the police.
"They did an outstanding job and gave our officers good information. I don't know if they're mothers but they definitely had that instinct to help," Officer Lalo Villegas, of the Salinas Police, said, according to ABS News.
Police and Child Protective Services arrived at the home, where the couple was high on methamphetamine. The child was taken by Child Protective Services. The couple was also charged with being under the influence of narcotics, and will appear in court on Friday.
