Courtney Cox, David Arquette developing 'Friends'-like sitcom

Courtney Cox and estranged-husband David Arquette are developing a comedy series that sounds eerily similar to that of Friends.

According to TVLine, the former couple will soon pitch an ensemble sitcom that “explores the ups and downs of relationships across a group of friends, spanning 10 years.” This span of time reflects the same number of years Cox’s former comedy Friends was on the air.

The project is tentatively titled 10 Years and is being produced through Cox and Arquette’s ABC Studios-based Coquette Productions.

There is speculation that two of the characters will be loosely based on the couple’s rocky relationship, reports NY Magazine.

Cox will stay behind-the-scenes since she already stars on Cougar Town, while Arquette may star on the potential sitcom in addition to serving as producer, says AceShowBiz.

Despite Cox and Arquette's separation last October after 11 years of marriage, the two have remained friends and are spending quite a lot of time together. Just this week, Cox attended the premiere of Dancing with the Stars with their seven-year-old daughter, Coco, to support Arquette in his dancing endeavor.
