Courtney Love Stays In Rehab, Avoids Jail

Courtney Love has been sentenced to six months in a live-in rehabilitation clinic for using drugs during her probation, avoiding jail due to the progress she has made over the past month.

Love, 41, is on probation for previous drug offenses and for attacking musician Kristen King with a whiskey bottle last April. King is now suing Love for the attack, seeking damages for assault, battery, false imprisonment and other claims.

Love entered the rehabilitation center last month after admitting she had violated her probation by using an unidentified substance. The judge is pleased with her recovery attempt thus far, but extended her probation until March 2007. During her stay at the clinic, she will only be allowed to leave in the case of emergencies and will be subjected to random drug tests.
