Courtney Love Trial Date Set

Will Love Make Her Court Date and Settle All the Charges Against Her?

You are not alone if you are beginning to wonder when rocker and tabloid queen Courtney Love will have a date out of court, sober up and get out of the penny press.

Hopefully that date will be sooner rather than later. According to MTV News and SouthFlordia.com, a trial date of Sept. 30 has been set for Love's felony drug case in Los Angeles.

According the SouthFlordia.com, Beverly Hills Court Judge Elden Fox told Love the felony trial would begin that day or as many as 10 days later, no exceptions.

Love faces two counts of illegal possession of prescription painkillers after in incident in early October of last year, which the media described as a "medical emergency." Translation: Love overdosed at her home in Beverly Hills, Calif., in front of her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, according to MTV News.com.

If convicted, Love faces up to three years and eight months in prison, according to MTV.

Separate from this case, Love has been in and out of court and is currently facing a felony assault charge arising from a fight with another woman in April in Los Angeles, according to SouthFlorida.com. Love was expected to be arraigned on that charge today but her lawyer, Ross Nabatoff, says the date has been changed to Friday, Aug. 20.

The judge also set a Sept. 1 hearing in the drug possession case but ruled that Love, who has trouble making court dates anyway, does not have to appear.
