Cowell to leave American Idol?

Simon Cowell may be too busy for hit reality show American Idol.

Working on Britain's Got Talent, and The X Factor in his native England and American Idol in the United States, Cowell is very busy making appearances for all three shows. According to the Daily Mirror, he makes up to four transatlantic trips a week.

"It takes longer and longer to make these shows because you have to put more into them and I am not sure we can sustain me doing three shows a year," he said, according to WENN.

Cowell may be feeling the strain of his hectic schedule and it may be American Idol that is sacrificed for relief. Cowell is up for a contract renewal for American Idol next year and may be the easiest to axe from his many commitments.

"I guess America is more likely to go because I have got one year under contract. Maybe that will be the end," Cowell said.

Fans will certainly be divisive over the abrasive judge's proposed departure.
