Crash Take Title... For Most Profanity
Here's one award that doesn't come with a little golden man.
Watchdog group FamilyMediaGuide has awarded the R-rated "Crash" for its 182 expletives, including 99 instances of the F-word, the most in any Best Picture nominee. "Brokeback Mountain" was second with 92 curse words, followed by "Munich" with had 22. All three movies were rated R, demonstrating the often wide discrepancy between movies with a similar rating.
FamilyMediaGuide tracks profanity, sex, violence and tobacco use in movies for parents to use as a guide. They say the record with the most profanities in a Best Picture win is held by 1980's "Platoon," which had 329.
"Crash," which chronicles race relations in Los Angles, is up for six other Oscars including Best Supporting Actor for Matt Dillon for his role as a racist cop.
