Critics' Choice Awards brings winners early in the Awards season

"Precious,""Avatar" and "Inglorious Basterds" won prizes at Fridays Critics' Choice Awards, a cermeony often seen as foretelling of Oscar success.
Quentin Tarantino's "Inglorious Basterds" was tied with the all-star musical "Nine" with 10 nominations.
Comedian Mo'Nique was names best supporting actress for her role as an abusive mother in the drama "Precious."
She described Lee Daniels, the film's director, as "one of the most brilliant directors and visionaries of our time."
"Avatar," which was nominated nine times was named best action movie.
Other early winners include "Up" for best animated film, and Saoirse Ronan for best young actor/actress. She played a teen in Peter Jackson's adaption of "The Lovely Bones."
