Cruise Gives Holmes Strength Before Opening Night

She recently made her Broadway debut.

Before making her Broadway debut this past Tuesday, Tom Cruise gave wife a little moral support when he gathered all her family members together and gave her strength.

Holmes opened at New York's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, performing in Arthur Miller's All My Sons. There was a huge crowd in attendance to see Holmes perform alongside Patrick Wilson, Dianne Wiest and John Lithgow.

Cruise said that their presence beforehand helped calm Holmes's nerves a great deal.

"We had my whole family," Holmes told People. "Tom's whole family. Friends flew in. It's exciting."

"He comes (to the theatre) a lot," Holmes added about his role. "He came to the dress rehearsal. I was so nervous, and I saw him out there, and he made me feel so much better. Every time he's there, I just feel like it's going to be okay."
