Cubs Win (in Song)
Eddie Vedder has just released a new song in homage to the Chicago Cubs. The Chicago native and lifetime Cubs fan titled his new song, "All the Way," in hopes that the team will do the same. "Someday we'll go all the way," he says in the refrain. "Yeah, someday we'll go all the way," he says to a team that hasn't won a Series for a century.
Vedder first received notoriety for his work with Pearl Jam and, with that, the Seattle grunge sound of the early '90s. With that in mind, he has already put the song on the Pearl Jam Web site. Vedder's song is also being played in Chicago bars and on the radio. As one can see from the lyrics, Vedder feels fortunate to live in Chicago and to have the Cubs to root for. "When you're born in Chicago, you're blessed and you're healed the first time you walk into Wrigley Field," he writes.
