Custody Hearing for MJ's Kids Rescheduled

The date of a hearing for guardianship of Michael Jackson's children has been changed.

A custody hearing for temporary guardianship of Michael Jackson's children was scheduled for Monday but has now been rescheduled for July 20 at the request of Katherine Jackson and Debbie Rowe, People magazine reports.

Until the hearing, Katherine Jackson will maintain her role as temporary guardian of the children, a Los Angeles Superior Court statement said. The three children, Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael II (Blanket), 7, have been staying with their grandmother at her Encino, California home since their father's death on June 25.

Rowe, the biological mother of Prince and Paris, has not filed a petition for temporary guardianship but has told her former attorney and close friend, Iris Finsilver, that she intends to pursue custody.

"Frankly, she won't have to fight for them," Finsilver told People. "She is the children's biological mother. She loves her children."

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jackson left Rowe out of his will and named his mother as the intended guardian of the children.
