CW Cancels "The Beautiful Life"

The Beautiful Life, starring Mischa Barton, has been canceled after two episodes.

The first victim in the television cancellation cycle has been confirmed. The new CW show, "The Beautiful Life," starring Mischa Barton, has been officially canceled by the network after only two episodes.

It was confirmed Friday and the show halted production in New York. The pilot episode opened poorly with 1.31 million viewers and the second episode took in an average of 1.1 million, cementing the show's canceled status.

"Life" has Ashton Kutcher as executive producer and came from CBS studios. It is written by former-model-turned-writer Adam Giaudrone, loosely based on his experiences in New York as a male model.

The show starred Mischa Barton, Corbin Bleu, Benjamin Hollingswoth, Nico Tortorella, Ashley Madekwe, Elle MacPherson and Sara Paxton as young models living together in New York City and discovering the ups and downs of the industry.

To fill the timeslot of the now-cancelled "Life," repeats of other CW dramas, such as the "Melrose Place" re-launch will replace the series.
