Cybill Shepherd's son arrested on charges of theft
Actress Cybill Shepherd’s son was arrested on Tuesday at Philadelphia's airport after allegedly attempting to rob sleeping passengers on an overnight cross-country flight.
According to an article on People.com, “Cyrus Zacharia Shepherd-Oppenheim was flying from San Francisco to Philadelphia about 1 a.m. ET Tuesday when he was accused of stealing a digital camera, U.S. currency, a leather cosmetics bag and another small piece of luggage, according to published reports.”
As per the Philadelphia police, 22-year-old Shepherd-Oppenheim has been charged with two counts of theft for unlawfully receiving stolen goods after he allegedly rummaged through fellow passengers’ belongings while they were asleep.
Shepherd-Oppenheim, who resides in Sepastopolm, Calif., was taken into custody after his flight landed in Philadelphia.
As for Shepherd, the well-known 59-year-old actress, singer and former model is probably best known for her role as Maddie Hayes on ABC’s “Moonlighting” where she starred opposite future mega movie star Bruce Willis. She most recently starred in the Hallmark Channel Original Movie, “Mrs. Washington Goes to Smith,” as well as on several episodes of the USA dramedy television series, “Psych,” and has a recurring role on the Showtime drama, “The L Word.”
Shepherd also played Martha Stewart in two television movies, 2003’s “Martha, Inc.: The Story of Martha Stewart” and 2005’s “Martha: Behind Bars.” Shepherd had a television series of her own, aptly titled “Cybill,” which aired on CBS from 1995 to 1998. Its cast included Dedee Pfeiffer, sister of Michelle, Alicia Witt, who starred opposite Queen Latifah, LL Cool J, Timothy Hutton and Gérard Depardieu in the 2006 comedy, “Last Holiday,” and stage/film actress Christine Baranski, who starred in 2008’s “Mamma Mia!” and 2002’s “Chicago.”
