Da Vinci Code Author Pens New Novel
According to People, Dan Brown, the author who wrote the acclaimed novel and later, film, The DaVinci Code, is planning to publish a new book, due on bookstore shelves on Sept.15.
The book, entitled The Lost Symbol, will chronicle 12 hours in the life of the book's protagonist, Robert Langdon.
Brown said in a statement, "Weaving five years of research into the story's 12-hour timeframe was an exhilarating challenge. Robert Langdon's life clearly moves a lot faster than mine."
A film version of another one of his books, Angels & Demons, is slated to debut in theaters on May 15. This film, like The Da Vinci Code, stars Tom Hanks and was directed by Ron Howard.
Variety has reported that Columbia Pictures is currently planning for production of a film version of The Lost Symbol.
