Dane Cook's Sister-in-law Pleads to Keep Personal Belongings

The wife of comedian Dane Cook's brother is now asking courts to let her hang on to a pair of wedding rings, which would otherwise be used in repayment to Cook for the money the couple embezzled from him.

A Massachusetts court is hearing a restitution split in the embezzlement case in which comedian/actor Dane Cook was a victim.

According to Business Week, Erika McCauley is asking the court to be permitted to keep two gold weddings rings which she says hold sentimental value. McCauley and her husband, the older, half-brother of Dane Cook, Darryl McCauley, are each serving time in prison (she, two and a half to three years, and he five to six years) for embezzling millions from Cook over a period of several years.

The McCauleys have been ordered to pay $12 million to the comedian in restitution.

Erika McCauley's request was made on Friday, but a judge has so far not delivered a response.
