Dangerfield Still in Hospital Spotlight
Rodney Dangerfield is breathing on his own, although he is still in a 'light coma,' according to his wife Joan.
The 82-year-old comedian has been hooked up to a respirator in the UCLA Medical Center's intensive car unit since he underwent heart-valve replacement surgery on August 25th.
Dangerfield had brain bypass surgery in April 2003 to increase his blood flow. This was in preparation for him to avoid a stroke during his surgery this past August. He also suffered from a heart attack in Nov. 2001, and he had double-bypass heart surgery in March 2000.
Since his operation, Dangerfield's hospital visitors have included Jim Carrey, Roseanne Barr, Jay Leno and Adam Sandler, according to Reuters.
Doctors have yet to determine when Dangerfield will be released.
