David Archuleta Cancels His Charity Show

No, he's not pregnant like Ashlee. He doesn't have throat injuries like Avril. But rather, it's because the concert is one of David's father/stage dad/manager, Jeff Archuleta's, impulsive acts to launch his son's career.

AOL News said the stage dad planned the whole concert without consulting American Idol producers. The producer for American Idol and Archuleta's label, 19 Entertainment, felt that this private benefit would interfere with ticket sales for the upcoming Idol tour, which meant it has to be nixed.

"When all the minds met, everyone concluded this wouldn't work out for this particular weekend," Jeff Archuleta told the Salt Lake City Tribune. His previous media attention included his being banned from backstage AI areas for being too overbearing on his son (and the fear that the influence could pass over other contestants).
