David Beckham crashes car on freeway

Soccer star David Beckham was involved in a minor car accident Friday morning near Torrence, California.

Beckham was driving south on the 405 Freeway in his black Cadillac SUV when he rear-ended a gold Mitsubishi that had stalled in the carpool lane. Beckham's son, Brooklyn, was also in the car.

"David swerved to avoid a stalled vehicle in the car pool lane and clipped the vehicle," Beckham's rep told E! News. "Thankfully, he and Brooklyn were not injured."

After the accident, California Highway Patrol spokeswoman Jennifer Connolly told People magazine that the driver of the Mitsubishi was taken to a nearby hospital complaining of minor neck pain.

There is still no word on the driver's condition. Beckham was not cited or arrested.
