David Cook Already Topping Download Charts

The newest winner of the American Idol series, David Cook, is already on top. He was the most downloaded, and he hopes to put out a rock album already that will "make the hair on your neck stand up," reported Reuters.

The winner of the seventh season of American Idol, beat out the 17-year-old David Archuleta by 12 million votes out of the 97.5 million total votes on Wednesday night. All the votes were cast by viewers via text message.

The single he topped the charts with on iTunes, "The Time of My Life," was his first single; three others that he sang this week were also in the top four downloads in the store, on Friday.

The winner plans to put out an album of his own. He said of it to Reuters, "I think it's going to be a mixture of my writing and hopefully writing with other people. I just want to come out of the gate with a solid record."
