David Cook Heads Out for New Tour
The season seven "American Idol" winner will return to the road for a new tour promoting his self-titled debut album.
The 34-city tour starts on June 18 in Del Mar, Calif., and ends on Oct. 18 at the Georgia National Fair in Perry, Ga.
Throughout the tour, Cook will be hitting a series of state fairs, festivals, and clubs.
Cook recently lost his older brother to cancer, reports the New York Post.
He debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Digital Songs after winning "American Idol." Cook also received a platinum certification for his latest album, which had some tracks co-written with Chris Cornell and Brian Howes.
Cook's newest single, "Permanent," is available on iTunes and the proceeds will go to a Washington DC-based charity called the Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure.
In an interview with the Post, Cook said "Being a year removed from the whole thing and as busy as I've been, I was just excited to not be the newbie anymore
It was cool to see [the new winner] Kris Allen's reaction. I completely empathize with that
just utter shock."
