David Cook Signs with 19 Recordings/RCA Records

Winner of the seventh season of American Idol, David Cook, was signed by 19 Recordings/RCA Records after a stellar week that saw Cook's first single, "The Time of My Life," shoot to number one on iTunes.

The performance of his debut single was the best from the show's alumni since the second season of American Idol.

Cook will hope to parlay the success of his single into a stellar first album, which will be released in the fall of 2008.

Cook will begin recording his debut album while on the road with the American Idol summer tour, which features the 10 finalists from the 7th season. The tour begins in Glendale, AZ on July 1.
