Delaware State University Shooting

Officials cancel classes for Friday to investigate the shootings of two students.

Classes are canceled, faculty are asked to stay at home, and residents who live on campus are told to remain in their dormitories while police and forensic teams search for the suspect of a shooting which occurred at 1 a.m. Friday morning on Delaware State University's campus. The shooting involved 2 victims, one male and one female. According to the college's web site, the male is said to be in stable condition, while the female's injuries are more serious. The website also stresses that the safety of the student population is of utmost importance and that officials are doing everything they can to find the suspect. Currently there are close to 3,500 students at the university, over half of them live on campus.
