Demi Lovato did the honors of singing the National Anthem at the World Series before Game 5 in Arlington, Texas on Monday night.
Although the night before, Lovato tweeted that she is "so nervous/excited about tomorrow!" she performed the “Star Spangled Banner” flawlessly.
The Texas Rangers beat the St. Louis Cardinals to take a 3-2 lead in the series, and right before going out to sing, Lovato said "The rush of going out there ... nothing compares to it. I feel like I'm about to jump out of a plane," MTV News reports.
The “Skyscraper” singer notes how bittersweet it is to be singing in her hometown, as " I've been to these Rangers games many times. I've sat in the nosebleed sections where you can barely see anything and now I'm going to be singing on the field.”
“That to me is such a dream come true and it represents my journey and how far I've come,” she continued.
She has previously sang the National Anthem at a Dallas Cowboys game in 2008.
Celebuzz reports that before Game 4, New Girl star Zooey Deschanel sang the National Anthem.
