Nothing can stop Demi Lovato from performing in her hometown of Dallas, not even bronchitis.
The 19-year-old “Skyscraper” singer headed home to Texas over the Thanksgiving holiday where she would also perform a hometown concert in Dallas as part of her "Unbroken" tour.
Lovato, according to The Daily Mail, had symptoms of bronchitis hours before her performance, but she wouldn’t let being sick stop her from performing at home.
“Woke up so sick this morning but I WILL NOT let it stop me from putting on a killer show in my hometown tonight!!!” she tweeted on the morning of her concert. “Come on Dallas TX!!!!”
“I'm still so ready to rock it out tonight!” she added.
According to Celebuzz, Lovato did give that “killer” concert she was hoping to give, but she reportedly did have to cut it short by one song.
“Dallas was on fire last night!” she tweeted Sunday.
Lovato continues her tour in New Orleans on Sunday night. Following New Orleans, she’ll play four more dates that are left on the tour.
Performing with an illness is the least she could do for her fans, who have remained supportive through and through. She recently expressed how thankful she was that her fans were accepting of her time in treatment and of the “true” Demi Lovato.
“I am thankful for my life path, including the highs and the lows, because it has caused my true self to shine through. Going to treatment was a gift and I believe it saved my life,” she wrote on her Seventeen column. “…. It also helped me open up about my issues and share them with others. Knowing that my family, friends and fans accept me for who I am is the greatest feeling ever!”
“I no longer take things for granted, like my family, friends, fans and career,” she added. “Each day is special to me and I take each day one day at a time.”
