Demi Lovato Enters Rehab for Alleged Cutting and Eating Disorder

According to The Huffington Post, Disney Channel star Demi Lovato checked into rehab to seek treatment for “emotional and physical issues.” Lovato, according to an anonymous source is seeking treatment for an eating disorder and for cutting herself. Lovato has battled those issues in the past.

Demi Lovato is the star of the Camp Rock movies and star of Disney’s Sonny with a Chance. The 18-year-old dropped out of the Jonas Brothers tour she was a guest performer on over the weekend to go to an undisclosed location for treatment.

"Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help," the statement said. "She is doing just that. Demi and her family ask that the media respect her privacy during this difficult time."

Lovato has admitted to being bullied during middle school. She told the Associated Press in 2009, “It was more verbal harassment than physical abuse, but that's actually more scarring than anything. And I had to leave because I just couldn't deal with it. And I've home-schooled ever since."

Her rep said, she “is looking forward to getting back to work in the near future." She regrets not finishing the tour.
