Demi Lovato has had a big year returning to the spotlight with a new hit album, Unbroken, a comeback tour and a new view of her life.
She'll be ending it on a high note, as she will ring in the new year in Times Square this year.
The 19-year-old "Skyscraper" singer is confirmed as host of MTV's New Year's Eve special NYE in NYC 2012, which will air live at 11 p.m. from MTV studios in Times Square. Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey is helping Lovato count down the minutes to 2012 and couldn't be happier about ringing in the New Year with Lovato.
“I love the MTV New Year’s Eve Special and am excited to be co-hosting it with Demi Lovato," he told Just Jared. "I love the performances and there are some great acts lined up this year.”
Lovato will serve as one of the performers on the show, along with her good friend and fellow Disney star Selena Gomez, J. Cole, Mac Miller and Jason Derulo. Switched at Birth stars Vanessa Marano and Katie Leclerc will also make an appearance on the special.
“I’m so excited to ring in the new year in Times Square with MTV as well as share the stage with friends and amazing musicians," Lovato said.
