Demi Moore has been going through a lot in her personal life, what with the announcement of her divorce from Ashton Kutcher after six years of marriage, his apparent cheating, and her very public 911 call ahead of her hospitalization.

Moore has been dubbed as one of the many women in Hollywood that seemed to defy the aging process, as she flaunted her bikini body on-screen and off-screen and was regarded as one of the world’s sexiest women despite coming up on age 50.

This week’s People cover story paints a picture of a woman who was deeply insecure behind all of the hype.

A source said that Moore, who has three children with ex-husband Bruce Willis, felt pressure to keep up with her years-younger husband, Kutcher, 33.

“As Demi got older, she convinced herself that she needed to stay young and skinny to remain attractive to her husband," said the source. "She needed reassurance all the time that she was hot and sexy."

The source close to the Ghost actress also said she "was always fixated on being young. And the only thing that tied her to that, as she got older, was her marriage to a younger guy and hanging around young people."

Regardless, The New York Post reports that following her January 23 episode in which she was convulsing due to “smoking something,” she is said to be "embarrassed."
