Depp, Burton team up to bring "Sweeny Todd" to movie

This will be duo's sixth movie together

Johnny Depp has teamed up with Tim Burton to bring Steven Sondheim's play "Sweeny Todd" to the silver screen.

Production is scheduled to begin in late 2007, DreamWorks Studios and Warner Bros, announced Wednesday and reported by the Los Angeles Times. A spokesperson from the studio said she expected Depp to do his own singing.

This will not be Depp's first forte into music, the actor appeared in the 1990 musical "Cry-Baby" and performed in a rock band called P, according to the Times. "Sweeny Todd" is about the story of a vengeful barber.

This will be Depp and Burton's sixth film together. The two have worked on, "Ed Wood," "Corpse Bride," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "Edward Scissorhands" and "Sleepy Hollow."
