Fans of Desperate Housewives might be disappointed by creator Marc Cherry’s most recent statements regarding the possibility of a movie reunion after the show is off the air.
The producers have warned fans that once the series finale airs, there will be a few cliffhangers. According to Cherry, however, they won’t be cleared up with a film.
The series will end its eighth season this spring, The Washington Post reports, saying goodbye to Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross and others in the ensemble cast.
At the Television Critics Association on Tuesday, Cherry told reporters that “I’m just never sending these gals to Dubai,” referring to the second movie sequel of the HBO series Sex and the City.
“I’m being hyperprotective of it,” Cherry said of the finale, but admits that there will be some “old, familiar characters” that will show their faces.
Executive producer Bob Daily has revealed that the finale will have some notes of Season 1 in the storyline.
CBS News reports that Cherry will even appear in one of the episodes, noting "I'm gonna do a Hitchcock," adding, “The hair and makeup people will go through more hell that day than they ever have."'
