Details of Phelps's Car Crash Revealed
New details have come to light regarding the car crash that involved Olympic swimming legend Michael Phelps. It has now been confirmed that the athlete is not at fault in the accident that caused "major damage" to his Cadillac Escalade. Apparently, the driver of the Honda Accord ran a red light and slammed into his vehicle before deflecting sideways and hitting a third parked vehicle. According to the police report, Phelps had one beer several hours before the accident, and so a Breathalyzer test was considered unnecessary.
This latest incident has worked out relatively well for Phelps, who has a history of drug and alcohol related problems. Phelps received a DUI charge in 2004 and was photographed smoking marijuana in 2008, causing him to lose numerous promotional deals.
