Detective Waved His Gun During Washington D.C. Snowball Fight

Police in Washington D.C. revealed on Monday that they are investigating an incident involving a police officer who flashed his gun when he was hit by a snowball

Videos that have recently been uploaded on YouTube and Reason.tv show a man who had been driving a Hummer stepping out of his vehicle to flash a gun at people who threw snowballs at him. The Associated Press is reporting that the armed man in the videos is a police officer who flashed his gun at those involved in a city snowball fight. He reportedly warned the people involved in the incident that he was a detective and while some bystanders in the video expressed fear over the weapon others continued to throw snowballs at the police officer.

Police in Washington D.C. announced earlier today that they are in the process of performing an investigation in response to the incident, which included the police officer pointing and waving his gun at those who were throwing snowballs as he approached them. The video evidence that has been unveiled on the World Wide Web supports details that have been provided by witnesses to the incident.

In the video that is featured at Reason.tv, the camera man narrates the scene by saying, “He’s driving a Hummer and people are throwing snowballs at him. They’re still doing it! This guy’s laughing, you’re about to get shot. Do not shoot anyone over snowballs, please!” The crowd is heard chanting, “Don’t bring a gun to a snowball fight!” after the officer unveiled his weapon. Commotion ensued when the police officer taunted the bystanders, daring them to continue by screaming, “OK! Throw another snowball!”
