DiCaprio to Produce and Star in "Low Dwellers" Film

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio is set to star in a new dark thriller which may be directed by Ridley Scott.

According to Reuters, Leonardo DiCaprio and Ridley Scott are teaming up again for the new film, The Low Dwellers. The dark thriller was written by Brad Ingelsby, an insurance salesman in his 20s who lives in Pennsylvania. Ingelsby has never been to Hollywood as this is his first time writing a screenplay.

The Low Dwellers centers on a man who has just been released from jail and is trying to re-adjust to normal society, but a person from his past is hunting the man down to settle a score. Two other prominent figures of the story are a female love interest and an additional male character. The film takes place in Indiana in the mid-1980s.

DiCaprio and Scott will produce the film and DiCaprio is set to play the main character. Scott may direct the film as well.

An intense bidding war took place over the script with Warner Bros. and Sony Pictures as some of the participants. Ultimately, Ryan Kavanaugh's Relativity Media bought the Dweller project for approximately $500,000.
