Barbara Walters is probably one of the busiest 82-year-olds in the entertainment business, working on The View every day that she isn’t jetting off somewhere around the world to interview a controversial or influential figure.

Walters’ 18th 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011 special aired on ABC on Wednesday night, the first that was extended to 90 minutes, so she isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.

A TMZ report suggested that Walters was overheard saying she was going to retire next year during an interview on Thursday at the White House with President Obama and the First Lady.

She is said to have leaned in toward the president and said "I need one more interview with you because I'm retiring next year." MSNBC reports that the comment isn’t part of the interview, rather something she said in private during a break.

However, Jeff Schneider, Sr. VP of ABC News, has vigorously denied this report. He told TMZ "Barbara has joked that she is retiring every year since the Clinton Administration. Anyone who just did a day trip to Syria, 90-minute prime time special and an interview with the President and First Lady hardly sounds like someone retiringfrom anything."
