Did Cheney Aim For Love?

A singer-songwriter imagines what might have taken place on the ranch last Saturday.

According to Jill Sobule, Cheney did it for love.

The folk singer-songwriter has written a song about Vice President Dick Cheney and hunting friend Harry Whittington, suggesting the hunting accident that landed Whittington in the hospital was related to the pals' secret love affair.

"Remember the nights under the stars," goes the song, "I played my guitar, songs of world domination/ And we cuddled up in front of the fire/ We were more than just friends/ I'm sorry that it has to end./ Harry Whittington, Now, I've got a gun/ I'm counting up to 5."

Sobule had friend Robin Eaton make a recording of the song for Huffingtonpost.com, the news and Weblog site for Democratic hotshot Ariana Huffington, so readers could experience it as Sobule imagined it.
