Director Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio take on "Brave New World"

The 1931 novel to be made into film.

It is possible that Leonardo DiCaprio may be producing and/or starring in Ridley Scott's production of "Brave New World," an adaptation of the 1931 novel by Aldous Huxley. The book is a synopsis of a 26th century utopia. The BBC News reports that Scott may choose DiCaprio as he worked with him on the film, "Body of Lies," in 2008.

Huxley's novel tells the story of a society that is not humanitarian or equal but instead is split into five castes. The plot revolves around a man from a lower caste becoming enamored with a woman from a higher caste. The novel has been interpreted in many television productions but has never had the opportunity to make it onto film.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the screenwriter of Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto" will be writing the script and DiCaprio's production company, called "Appian Way," already has the rights to the book. The film is currently still in development.
