Disney Battling Paramount Over Marvel Films?

Who would win in a fight?

IESB.net is reporting that the House of Mouse may be squeaking through loopholes in Marvel Comic's contracts with other film studios.

When Disney announced their intent to purchase the super hero juggernaut for approximately $5 billion last fall, they assured everyone that the deals Marvel had set up with other film studios to distribute films based on their characters would remain in place. Now it looks as if Disney's grown impatient and is looking to take back what is now their property.

Fox holds the film rights to much of the Marvel universe, including the X-Men, Deadpool, super hero lovers Daredevil and Elektra, and the Fantastic Four, while Sony still maintains the rights to Spider-Man. While the contracts with those studios remain airtight, the one Marvel has with Paramount Pictures may provide Disney with the means to their end.

While details of this loophole haven't been revealed, Disney's lawyers are allegedly already hinting that Iron Man 3 will be a Disney production, with Captain America and The Avengers also prone to being distributed under the Disney name.

Disney may also choose to collaborate with Paramount or buy them out of their contract for the estimated sum of what the future films may make. Whatever happens, it seems as though the House of Mouse is quite eager to make back the loads of money it's spending on Marvel Entertainment. Remember, there's still the issue of theme park attractions they need to settle, too!
