DJ AM Says Crash Saved His Life
During treatment for burns sustained during a fatal crash that killed four, doctors told DJ AM, who survived the crash with friend and musician Travis Barker last month, that they found a blood clot in his leg that could have killed him during the flight, according to People magazine.
"In the burn center, they did a scan and found that I had a blood clot that in this flight could have traveled to my heart and I could have died," DJ AM said.
The DJ, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, was released earlier this month after being treated for second- and third-degree burns. Doctors at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Georgia were able to treat Goldstein's blood clot with blood-thinning medications and a filter in the vein.
"I have a great deal of faith that everything happens for a reason," Goldstein said. "I put myself in God's hands."
Since his release, Goldstein has slowly made his way back into the public eye. He has been spotted around Los Angeles and returned to his disc jockey position earlier this week after being invited to spin for rapper Jay-Z.
