DJ Hero To Be Released This Year

After the resounding success of the Guitar Hero video game, it was obvious that the idea was going to be pursued and exploited. The result: DJ Hero.

Talking this morning with business channel CNBC, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick made reference to the game and the possible release time.

"We have the product called 'DJ Hero' that's coming out later this year which is a turntable that you can actually play competitively and spin discs and mix songs," Kotick said, according to IGN.

Kotick, who was in Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum, also said that Activision Blizzard is prepared to deal with the current financial crisis as the company has close to $3 billion in cash, IGN reported.

The CEO's reference is the first confirmation that the game will be released this year. In the past, Activision had spoken about developing the game but hadn't release a date.
