DMX Gets Probation Charge

Rapper DMX was sentenced today for 18 month probation for assaulting a jail officer

Earl Simmons, also known as DMX, will not have to spend more time in the doghouse. The rapper will not have to spend any more jail time in Arizona after spending nearly two years in their legal system, according to the Associated Press.

DMX was sentenced Monday to spend 18 months of supervised probation by the Maricopa County Superior Court for assaulting a detention officer with a lunch tray.

Simmons pleaded guilty to the attempted aggravated assault charge on May 22. Along with 18 months of supervised probation, the rapper is required to pay fines and attend a counseling program in Florida.

According to the Associated Press, DMX and his lawyer said that they were satisfied with the result of the plea agreement.

He was released in early May from jail after serving a sentence for felony theft, drug possession, and animal cruelty.
