Doctor of Late King of Pop to "Turn Himself In"
Michael Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murry, is allegedly surrendering to police in Los Angeles tomorrow morning, when it is assumed that he will be charged for Jackson's death.
According to an article in the Times Online, Murray will be taken to court after he has turned himself in to face a judge. Prosecutors would not say whether or not they will charge the doctor, but multiple sources, including the Associated Press and TMZ report that prosecutors will charge Murray with involuntary manslaughter.
Murray's lawyers have reportedly discussed the possibility the manslaughter charge, and have been planning for that contingency.
"We are prepared for whatever occurs," Ed Chernoff, the doctor's lawyer told Time. "We have time to meet and strategize for possible scenarios, but in reality we've had eight months to do that."
Jackson died June 25 at a mansion he rented from an overdose of Propofol. Murray was hired as a personal physician during preparation for a series of comeback performances. His death came when Murray gave Jackson a cocktail of sedatives and Propofol to cure insomnia.
