Nick Cannon was hospitalized around Christmastime of last year for kidney failure, and now it seems his health issues aren’t going anywhere until he gives his body the full attention it needs.
Cannon took to his Twitter account on Friday to announce that he would be cutting back on some of his professional obligations after doctors found blood clots in his lungs and a ventricle in his heart.
"The Doctors found blood clots in my lungs and said if I don't slow down and stop working so hard then it's a wrap!" he tweeted, TMZ reports.
“Under doctor’s orders, I have been asked to cut back on some of my professional commitments to allow my body to get the rest it needs to keep up with the demands of my multitasking schedule,” he said.
First order of business is to cancel his radio show Rolling with Nick Cannon.
He also said, "Even Superman has to sleep."
According to The New York Daily News, Cannon will continue on with his hosting duties on America’s Got Talent, as well as Cannon’s Countdown.
The radio station 92.3 released a statement in support of Cannon’s decision to step down, saying “We have nothing but respect and understanding for Nick’s decision to step down from his day-to-day position. Everyone at the station and all of the CBS Radio family wish him well.”
Cannon did say he would contribute “whenever possible.”
