Does Joaquin Phoenix Really Want To Be A Rapper?
Last year, Hollywood veteran Joaquin Phoenix announced that he was retiring from acting. His new plan? To be a rapper instead! But Entertainment Weekly reports that the move might be nothing more than a prank.
A source told EW that he said he was going to pretend to have a meltdown and change careers and that his brother-in-law Casey Affleck is going to film it.
Before going on stage at his first performance in Las Vegas, Phoenix told People magazine that he knew people might not take his new job seriously. "Are there people out there who think I'm a joke? I'm sure there will be," he said. "Are there people who think it's going to suck? Probably, but I can't worry about that."
According to imdb.com, there is an untitled Joaquin Phoenix documentary set to be released in 2010. The plot states that it's his transition from actor to rapper. Whether it's true or a joke remains to be seen.
