Dr. Greene to Return to "ER" for Final Season
According to Reuters, Anthony Edwards will be coming back to the show, ER, despite the fact that his character, Mark Greene, is dead.Edwards played chief attending physician Dr. Greene from the pilot episode of ER back in 1994, until the character's death due to brain cancer in May 2002, during the end of the eighth season.
So his coming back to the show is all due to the wonderful world of flashbacks.
The NBC network said Thursday that Edwards would share these flashback scenes with Angela Bassett, an announced new arrival to the show's cast.
The network also said that the episode involving Edwards would be aired November 13 and be called "Heal Thyself," and "will feature other characters from the past."
A spokesman said that the episode would begin filming as soon as next week, but he didn't tell who else would be coming back in the episode.
It is known, however, that Edwards isn't the only one back on ER in the last season, as original ER star Noah Wyle is once again playing Dr. John Carter in four upcoming episodes of the show.
For now, fans will just keep on having to wonder whether or not George Clooney, perhaps the show's biggest star, will be coming back for a cameo as well.
