Drunk Driver in Court After Crash with Sandra Bullock
According to the Associated Press, the woman who crashed into Sandra Bullock's car on Friday night will appear in court on Tuesday.
In Gloucester, Massachusetts, Lucille Gatchell crashed her Subaru into the SUV carrying Bullock and her motorcycle tycoon husband, Jesse James.
The Associated Press further states that the 64-year-old is scheduled to be charged for drunken driving.
Police immediately noticed that Gatchell "had a strong odor of alcohol and was unsteady on her feet." Police highlight that she blew an alcohol level two-and-a-half times over the legal limit.
Police Lt. Jerry Cook said both vehicles were badly damaged but nobody was injured and no medical attention was required. Officers were impressed with the couple's concern for the elderly woman.
Police Officer Kevin Mackey claimed, "Mrs. Bullock was very personable and was concerned for (Gatchell's) well-being," reports the Boston Globe. "After I arrested her, I had her in the cruiser. I said, 'Do you realize who you hit?'" Mackey continues. "She asked, 'Who?' I said, 'Sandra Bullock.' She was almost giggling and laughing. She said, 'My first drunk driving and I hit Sandra Bullock.'"
