Duff vs. Dunaway: A Real Life Feud (link to video)
The story of Bonnie and Clyde was made into a feature film in 1967, and Faye Dunaway played the role of bad girl bandit Bonnie. The remake of the film is starting to turn its gears, and Dunaway has expressed public contempt and dismay over the choice of who will fill her shoes: Hilary Duff.
The verbal barbs have been bouncing back and forth between the two, and the public animosity they are displaying seems as violent as a shootout. Dunaway fired the first shot. When she found out Duff was cast for the role, she said, "Couldn't they at least cast a real actress?"
Duff then shot back, suggesting that filmgoers and Duff fans don't even know who Dunaway is, and saying, "I think it was a little unnecessary, but I might be mad if I looked like that now too."
The opening volley has been launched, and The Story of Bonnie and Clyde is scheduled for release in 2010. This feud may be good for publicity, and could get more bloody than the film.
