DVD Dribble

The latest TV shows comes out on DVD.

Missed out on some of your favorite TV shows or just want to watch them again and again? This week's dribble rounds out the new TV shows on DVD.

First off is the guilty pleasure "My Super Sweet 16 - Seasons 1 & 2." The series follows everyone's favorite bratty teens as they prepare for their most important coming-of-age celebrations. These kids expect and accept only the absolute best, and their parents are more than willing to go all out for the cause. Watch and see why 16 isn't always so sweet.

"Gunsmoke" was television's longest running Western, and the six discs of the Season 1 DVD pay homage to what John Wayne once called "the best thing of its kind to come along." It has its share of shootouts and traditional Western action, but some of the best episodes are psychological dramas. This classic show is what made James Arness, as U.S. Marshal Matt Dillon, one of Bravo's 50 greatest TV characters.

"This Is Tom Jones" is a 3 DVD set dedicated to the charismatic singer Tom Jones and the weekly musical variety show he hosted from 1969 to 1971. The set contains some of Jones's greatest hits, as well as some guest performances from Stevie Wonder, Janis Joplin, and The Who.

"The Star Trek Fan Collective" is a 5 disc set containing the episodes that Star Trek fans voted as their all-time favorites from all five Star Trek series. Don't trust a Trekkie to pick the best episodes? Then you'll definitely appreciate the favorite episodes chosen by each show's legendary leader: Captain Kirk, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew, and Scott Bakula.

"Tales from the Crypt: The Complete Sixth Season" is hosted by a puppet called the Crypt Keeper, who introduces each of the 15 hour-long episodes that are a cross between the "Twilight Zone" and modern horror movies. Each episode tells a tale of horror dealing with everything from black magic to adultery to vampires and mad doctors. Buyer beware!

"Sabrina the Teenage Witch - Season 6" follows Melissa Joan Hart as a teen with witch powers trying to live a normal 16-year-old life. She runs into trouble while trying to figure out how spells work and keeping the secret from her friends and boyfriend.

"Hawaii Five-O - The Second Season" follows no-nonsense police chief Steve McGarrett (played by Jack Lord) as he patrols the beautiful setting of Hawaii. Unlike today's more realistic crime dramas, Hawaii Five-O takes viewers for a ride with the occasional fantasy assassination conspiracies and other exciting storylines.

Even the tightest of friendships can't overcome "Super Sweet 16." In this DVD, former BFFs Nicole and Jacquie compete against each other to see who can have the biggest and best sweet 16 birthday celebration.
