Efron Remakes Bacon's Role in "Footloose"

There has been a slew of rumors surrounding the remake of the 1984 classic, Footloose.

At this moment, it seems as if the movie is good to go, and playing Kevin Bacon's part in the remake will be Zac Efron (if the movie is made). And Bacon is OK with Efron remaking his role.

The rumored director of the film is High School Musical director Kenny Ortega, who will bring teen heartthrob Efron aboard in the starring role for Paramount Studios.

When recently asked about the possibility that there may be a remake, Ortega added fuel to the metaphorical fire and said that there's "a real good chance that this may be a movie."

If there is, Bacon gave Efron his seal of approval: "I met Zac briefly at an event . . . and we talked . . . only briefly . . . but he seemed like a really nice kid and I really do wish him all the best with it."
