Elizabeth Banks Will Star and Produce DreamWorks Movie

Banks builds her Hollywood status with more starring roles and producing credit.

After a busy year of film and television appearances including W, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, The Uninvited and Scrubs, Elizabeth Banks is set to produce and star in the comedy, Forever 21, from DreamWorks, according to Hollywood Reporter magazine. The plot is being kept a secret for now but is rumored to be a conceptualized story.

Banks was also just cast in the New Line comedy, What Was I Thinking? The movie co-stars Leslie Mann (Knocked Up) and is said to be a female-driven film.

In other casting news, Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical) will star in the teen romance, Beastly, from CBS Films. Beastly is a retelling of "Beauty and the Beast" in modern-day New York, telling the story of a teenager transformed in a negative way in order to find true love. The screenplay, by the director Daniel Barnz, is based on Alex Flinn's novel and set to be released in 2010.
