Elizabeth Hurley and Shane Warne engaged
Actress Elizabeth Hurley is engaged to Australian cricket star Shane Warne.
Hurley, 46, known for her role on Gossip Girl and being a model, has been dating Warne,42, for the past 10 months. Warne proposed to Hurley at the Old Course Hotel in Scotland on Friday, reports Us Magazine.
According to Daily Mail, the proposal took place at Road Hole Restaurant in a fairly public fashion.
People reports Warne apparently told a radio station last month all about being in love with Hurley but never mentioned any plans for marriage.
“If I’ve got some sort of news I’ll be more than happy to share it with you,” Warne said.
A source at the restaurant during the proposal said, “Shane proposed over dinner and it was fairly public, not a private affair. It was a VIP crowd in there this evening. He didn’t get down on one knee, but when it was announced the other guests in the restaurant stood up and applauded.”
Hurley’s ring is a square sapphire with two diamonds on either side.
The two posted identical tweets about the proposal: “Thanks for all your congratulations.”
Warne divorced his wife Simone in 2006 after 10 years of marriage and Hurley divorced her husband Arun Nayar in June. Hurley has one son, Damien, 9.
